I got married in April, and I immediately had everything changed--my SSN, my drivers license, etc. However I requested a credit report, and when I got it last week, it still had my maiden name associated with my social security number. Does anyone know about how long it takes for everything to switch over in the system?
How long does it take for your new last name to be registered with your SSN?
Your credit will still show your maiden name regardless of marriage. Mine shows both my current married name and my maiden name. You never lose the maiden, it just changes to reflect that you are also known as Jane Doe in addition to Jane Smith.
