If your social security card has been stolen but has not yet been misused, how do you change your number?

I looked on the www.ssa.gov site or social security webpage and it doesn%26#039;t answer questions about any cautious prevention after your card has been stolen. It only answers how to replace the card instead.|||Yu can only change your social secutity if it;s a cas eof endangerment.(example; my daughter coculd only ge ther changed because her ex husband was threatening her.

REven than they said her social security funds would still be on her old card number.|||Phone up,go down explain the situ they should there %26amp; then issue you with a new card providing there isn`t a dodgy reason for the other one being...lost?|||thats because you cannot change your ss #. thats why people who have their identity stolen go through so much hell to rectify the situation. hopefully you have already reported to ss that

someone has access to your number that is not authorized.

the best of luck to you!
