my phone company gave out my phone number without my knowledge after i told them do not give out my phone number to anyone.
do i have to sue them? i called them they apologies and they'll change my phone number, but I'm still not happy how could they gave out my number simply because a lady called and claiming she's my wife they gave my number. I'm now afraid the same person may call and start demanding my social security number. what do i do?
What do i do?
Chill... it may not be as bad as you fear....
What do i do?
Go to the FCC or FTC website and complain.

I am a victim of domestic violence, scared of my ex?
he has all of my information and can track me. I'm seeking sole custody of our child, and I want to change my identifiable information, including my social security number. Is this possible? How do I do it?
I am a victim of domestic violence, scared of my ex?
* It is possible! Seek legal advice! Make sure there is a restraining order in place! It may not keep him away, but it gives law enforcement a tool to work with! Good luck, Sweety! Check this info for changing your ID!

dont you think the authorities are much better to address this question then yahoo answers? come on.. your childs and your safety is at sake.
Contact your local violence shelter and ask them for help. They can at least steer you in the right direction.
Have you had the law enforcement authorities to your home?
Sheriff's, Policeman, A Constable ?
Have you confided to the law enforcement authorities?
Do you have a male friend, you can confide with ?
You HAVE to fill for a restraining order, then prove to the judge that your ex is dangerous enough to change your info. It is possible, but you need to go to the court house or an atterny.
Fair warning.... do not be shocked by judgement. I had a solid case (or so my attery and I thought) and he was able to sweet talk the judge into not letting me change my info. It is scary, and I move at lest every 3 months, if not sooner. I hope that things are a little better for you and good luck.
first find a good lawyer. Then get your but down to the nearest court house and file a restraining order. While your there look into getting your name changed, use your mom's maiden name if you have to. Next go the nearest social security office, and tell them you lost your card, and need a new one. They should be able to do it under your new name.

Definitely find out who the domestic violence nonprofit agencies are in your community. They should be able to hook you up w/ some assistance. Something to ask about is Victim Witness Protection. It's a federally funded program but should be available to you thru your local law enforcement. It will help pay for restraining orders, some relocation costs, etc. You should also talk to the Social Security Admin and see what you might need to do to change your SSN.

My brothers negative info is appearing in my credit file. We had the same address, and similar names. Help!?
My credit file is being sabataged by my brothers negative info I have since gone as far to change my name, and I have moved to another state. I think that I may need a new Social security number. Can someone tell me what options I have? Or explain to me how to get out of this...
My brothers negative info is appearing in my credit file. We had the same address, and similar names. Help!?
Is your brother using your social security number? If so he has stolen your identity. You have to call the three major credit reporting companies, Equifax being one of them, and explain the situation. Google for the names of the other two. If he has stolen your identity, it is a criminal matter.
My brothers negative info is appearing in my credit file. We had the same address, and similar names. Help!?
contact the reporting agency, tell them your name and SSN and tell them you're not your brother. i got a lot of my father's info in my credit report, we have the same names, just different middle names and had the same address. it was kinda nice having my dad associated with me, he had a long employment history with good credit record (sometimes they mess up to your advantage)
Errors on your credit report are nororiuosly hard to get fixed. However, step one (if you haven't already done so) is to go to www.annualcreditreport.com and order copies of your credit reports from all three major reporting agencies. Once you have the reports in hand, each agency has a website and 1-800 number to report errors. You also have the right to add a %26quot;comsumers comment%26quot; to any entry you feel is in error. The comments appear on the report to anyone that pulls your credit.
Hope this helps.
The reporting agencies do not go by name or address, but by your stoical security number. The number you are given at birth is yours for life and you can not go and get a new one. The best thing to do is to check your reports and then contact the reporting agency that the information is inaccurate and belongs to your brother. They will notify the credit company that gave them the information. If they do come back and tell you that it was %26quot; you %26quot; that opened the accounts then you need to have a talk with your brother and let him know that you know that he has used your credit and that you will have to get it fixed. The next thing to do after that would be to make a police report and then file for theft of identity with the credit offices. It will take some time and you may even have to take your brother to court to get your name cleared, but if you did not open the accounts or authorize him to then he needs to pay the price not you. Hope this helps and best of luck.
Contact the credit bureau, and give them your information to be corrected.
If you ran your credit report through Trans Union, there should be a reference # on the top right hand side. Call their customer service # 1-800-916-8800 then type in the reference that will transfer you to a live person. If you did not run the credit report yet, call 1-877-322-8228.
As others have said regardless of similar name, and same addresses, etc.....info contained inyour credit file is attached to your social security number....
As far as going about getting a new social....it can be done but under very very drastic and neccessary circumstances...your local Social Security Administration office will determine this by your situation...
Your brother may be using your social security number!!!
Try to find out if he is until then I would suggest getting a fraud alert considering the info in your report is not yours
Good Luck

Dropping my hyphenated last name permanently?
hi,
my last name is hyphenated in which the first part is my mom's last name (maiden) and the second part is my dad's last name. i am only 16, but i want to drop my mom's last name permanently so that when i apply to college in 2 years and also for the rest of my life, i will be known as my first name, my middle, and my dad's last name.
so first of all, do you have to be a certain age to do this? and second for those of you who have done this, how long did it take? because if i am changing my last name permanently, my passport, bank card, health card, social security number, etc. has to change as well.
thank-you very much in advance!
take care :)
Dropping my hyphenated last name permanently?
As you are talking about changing your legal name, then yes, you must of legal age to do so, what that age is depends on your State of residence. Contact an attorney, so they can advise you of what you need to do in order to go before the judge in a court of law to change your name legally. Good luck
Dropping my hyphenated last name permanently?
I don't know about the process, but I wish you luck. Hyphenated names are f'n annoying.

Just how long are we going to let Democrats screw us over Social Security?
Just in case some of you youngsters didn't know this. It's easy to check out, if you don't believe it. Be sure and show it to your class. They need a little history lesson on what's what and it doesn't matter whether you are Democrat or Republican. Facts are Facts!!!
Social Security Cards ( Like mine) up until the 1980s expressly stated the number and card were not to be used for identification purposes. Since nearly everyone in the United States now has a number, it became convenient to use it anyway and the message was removed.
Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social
Security (FICA) Program. He promised:
1.) That participation in the Program would be
Completely voluntary,
No longer Voluntary
2.) That the participants would only have to pay
1% of the first $1,400 of their annual
Incomes into the Program,
Now 7.65%
on the first $90,000
3.) That the money the participants elected to put
into the Program would be deductible from
their income for tax purposes each year,
No longer tax deductible
4.) That the money the participants put into the
independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the
general operating fund, and therefore, would
only be used to fund the Social Security
Retirement Program, and no other
Government program, and,
Under Johnson the money was moved to
The General Fund and Spent
5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income.
Under Clinton %26amp; Gore
Up to 85% of your Social Security can be Taxed
Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are
now receiving a Social Security check every month --
and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of
the money we paid to the Federal government to 'put
away' -- you may be interested in the following:
------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- ----
Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the
independent 'Trust Fund' and put it into the
general fund so that Congress could spend it?
A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically
controlled House and Senate.
------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --
Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax
deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?
A: The Democratic Party.
------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- -----

Security annuities?
A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the
'tie-breaking' deciding vote as President of the
Senate, while he was Vice President of the US
------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- -
Q: Which Political Party decided to start
giving annuity payments to immigrants?
AND MY FAVORITE:
A: That's right!
Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party.
Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65,
began to receive Social Security payments! The
Democratic Party gave these payments to them,
even though they never paid a dime into it!
------------ -- ------------ --------- ----- ------------ --------- ---------
Then, after violating the original contract (FICA),
the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away!
And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it!
If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of
awareness will be planted and maybe changes will
evolve. Maybe not, some Democrats are awfully
sure of what isn't so.
Actions speak louder than bumper stickers.
AND CONGRESS GIVES THEMSELVES 100% RETIREMENT FOR ONLY SERVING ONE TERM!!!
Just how long are we going to let Democrats screw us over Social Security?
You got it!
I hope the youngsters wake up when they have to suffer through the coming depression.
They should definitely learn job appreciation!client time Is it ok to put my quilt in the dryer

Someone I know did something very bad to me?
Infact she messed up my credit score when I was trying to help her. I know her social security number but I don't know her drivers license number, how can I get her back and make her pay for this?
....To those of you who will be offended by my question, just report me and keep it moving, I don't want to know what you think about what I'm trying to do, it won't change my credit score. Just give me some advice on playing the game.
Someone I know did something very bad to me?
Identity theft has consequences if you are caught. Don't risk going to jail or paying fines just to get even.
Take your friend to court. Make her pay everything. What ever it is you signed for - have it reposessed.
In the future, if people give you a problem about this - explain that it was because you consigned something with a dead beat.
Two great sites for dealing with credit related issues and identiy theft: scambusters.org and bankrate.com.
Good luck.
Someone I know did something very bad to me?
Report her to the police or sue her for damages.
If you have documentation take her to court for any money she may owe you. And you can dispute it with the credit agencies.
You need to take her to court. Getting even is childish and doesn't do you any good. Take her to court and get it solved legally. This way, you can begin to clean up your credit and move on. You hold on to anger and revenge, you hurt yourself and no one else.
Civil Court if you have documentation.
Are you serious? How did she mess your credit score up? Did she get a credit card in your name and rack up a bill that didn't get paid? That's the only way I know of to mess up your credit score. Also, everytime you apply for credit, a credit report is pulled and you loose points because you are accessing credit. So applying for tons of credit cards would definately hurt you.
Are you sure you want to do this? It's against the law and you could go to jail. It hurts now, but if being arrested is something you don't want on your next job application or resume? Just a thought.
I agree with you, those who play must pay!! First i would be 100% sure she stuck it to you. if there is any doubt leave it alone. Start by applying for a bunch of credit cards in her name of course. if you get some you need to decide if you risk using them (you may be caught). if you think it's worth the risk, go for it. My brother stole my parents credit card and ran up about $6000 before they found out. so go wild--new ward robe, lots of cash advances, the whole deal. sometimes the only way a person will learn a lesson is to be given a taste of their own medicine!!
Well, its pretty dirty, but Id put her SS number all over the net. Criminals will see it and run with it. I agree with one of your other answers, those who play should pay.
Talk to an attorney. If you co signed and she has not paid, you are responsible for the loan. An attorney will threaten her and it will have more of an impact on her than you would.
I am sure she is not worth going to jail for, so why chance it?
You took a risk when you co-signed for her.
Unfortunately there is nothing %26quot;legal%26quot; you can do.
If I were you, I would confront her and ask to to sign a repayment letter.
This will hold up in court.
You do not need to enclose the details of the loan you cosigned on, just write, I %26quot;name%26quot; agree to pay %26quot;name%26quot; the amount of %26quot;$.00.00%26quot; the total amount of %26quot;$.00%26quot; in monthly installment payments of %26quot;$00%26quot; beginning on 2/2/2000.
If I default, I will owe the entire amount all at once.

She should have no problem signing this if she agreed to pay the original loan.
Or you could have her refinance the loan with herself and another %26quot;trusting%26quot; cosigner.
Dont do anything illegal.
If you use her social fraudulently, you are commiting a felony.
Then you my dear, will be sitting in a cell because you wanted to get even. Who would be the winner then?
Dont ever cosign for ANYONE!

If your name has changed, you need to update your name change with the Social Security Administration before any other agency will work with you under that name. SSA will require you to provide the legal documentation regarding the name change.

just go to the DMV
Only the social security administration can change the name on your social security card. You can go online to download a form but you gotta take it up there.
If you have an ID card that is wrong, take your SS card to the DMV and tell them you need to change the name on your ID.
In most jurisdictions, the probate court handles name changes.
your social security number is with your name. So if your trying to change it to match it your a fraud trying to use someone else's social security number. And there is no easy way when it comes to social security numbers, name changes, and drivers license. Go to the local court house and try to do this but, i doubt you will b/c you know what your effing doing is illegal
This is sort of cluttered but let me see if I can figure this out. One can go to the local court house and do a NAME CHANGE. This process takes about six weeks because they have to do a legal post in the paper to notify everyone. After the post you go in front of a judge that asks you if you are trying to avoid creditors and the police. You say no and he says your name is changed.
With the courts paperwork then you go to the SSA and then with to the DMW.
